Welcome!
Granny's Books is pleased to present Sheltered in His Arms, an inspirational biographical novel of the life of Wilma Scarberry Norris Knight, mother of Carlos Ray, Wieland, and Aaron Norris. Wilma's story begins on a stormy spring day in Wilson, Oklahoma in 1921. Ms. Wilma, as our heroine is now affectionately known, was born the daughter of Oklahoma settlers. As many Americans at the time, the Scarberry family was forced to work together to survive. As a very young girl, Wilma worked in the cotton fields alongside her family. Fighting to overcome a near-fatal combination of diseases during the late '20s and early 30's, eight-year old Wilma Scarberry spends two years in the Oklahoma Crippled Children's Hospital. As a young married woman, Wilma's quiet desperation almost ends tragically for her and her sons. However, at the last minute, her personal relationship with the Lord averts disaster and keeps them from harm. Continually growing stronger in her Christian faith throughout her lifetime, Ms. Wilma finds solace in a poem by inspirational poet, Shirley Pope Waite, after the loss of a son in Vietnam. Through good times and bad, Ms. Wilma has walked hand-in-hand with her Savior. After living eighty-eight years and surviving breast cancer, two husbands, a son, eight siblings, and numerous medical conditions, Ms. Wilma is still an inspiration. With one-hundred forty family photos, Sheltered in His Arms provides front-row seats throughout this remarkable woman's life.
We are confident you will thoroughly enjoy Ms. Wilma's inspirational story, but don't take our word for it. Please read the reviews and comments from our readers on the next page.
